Occupation: Government Operations
Website: www.katswithak.com/deanho - ckney Marital Status: Single From Dean: After graduation, I spent time working for various sports publications before I joined the U.S. Air Force in 1990. I spent 9 1/2 great years traveling the world at the government’s expense. I spent five years in Europe (Italy) and Asia (Turkey), and a year in Alaska. My last tour was in the Tacoma, Washington area. Oh, and i visited a few places I can't talk about. I was Honorably Discharged in the spring of 1999 and returned to Kokomo. I was hired at the Kokomo Perspective almost immediately after returning, and spent five fantastic years working at the newspaper -- first as the Sports Editor and then the Managing Editor. In 2004, I published a book called, “Kats with a K: The 100 Year History of Kokomo High School Boy’s Basketball.” That was a thrill to write, and I enjoyed the reliving the history of our famed squad. I left the newspaper in June 2004 and am currently working for Kellogg Brown and Root as a U.S. Army civilian contractor in Baghdad, Iraq. I work in Government Operations near the Baghdad International Airport in support of the 4th Infantry Division (for all of you soldiers from our class -- Hoo-ah!). Feel free to drop me a line and I will tell you about my adventures in a war zone and what it is like to have mortars and rockets drop around you. I plan on calling it quits in Baghdad on 29 July, and will return to Kokomo -- just in time for the reunion. While my plans are up in the air, I will hopefully be able to rejoin the journalism field once again. |

Occupation: Power Plant Supervisor
Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 4 From Rod: Wow, how unexpected things can occur in one's life. My family and I are now living on Kwajalein Atoll, part of the Marshal Islands. The total land area of this island is 1.5 Sq Miles. I work for the US Army as supervisor for the power plant. There is no place like this in the world. The weather is 86/87 Deg every day of the year, and every day is a good day to fish, dive, sail, snorkel, or just lay around on the beach. There is only 1,500 or so folks here, so things are quiet and laid back. It is a wonderful place to raise a family. It is like a little Hawaii, but 2,500 south west of Honolulu. If this sounds interesting to you, and you have mechanical, electrical, or power plant experience, I'm always looking for good employees!! I'm married and have 4 chill'un. My life is nothing like I thought it might be - in a good way. I must give credit for these blessings to God, the creater of the universe, who knows much better than I do what is best for me. I laid pretty low in high school, spending most of my time at the airport and a flying club getting my pilot's license. In addition, I work out and weigh about 50lbs more than I did in high school. Those two things combined, you may not have a clue who I am when you see me! Of couse, I probably wouldn't remember most of you either since I didn't spend a lot of time with you folks outside of school. Oh well, I'm going to stop writing now, and head off to the beach. |
